Recognize Different Types of Acne

What do you feel when the red dots appear on your face? When they are small they are probably not as annoying , but it is different if the acne is getting bigger and inflamed. Before you can treat it,  you have to first identify the type of acne you have.

Classic acne (common acne)

Easily recognize with the appearance of small bumps or reddish pink. Common causes are stress, hormones and moist, triggers the skin to produce the oil which is a place for bacteria grow. As a result pores clogged due to infection of the bacteria.

Prevention & Treatment

Use a facial soap-containing benzoyl peroxide, or sulfur soap to kill the bacteria causing acne.

* If the prescription free acne drug does not work, go to a dermatologist and get it checked out and get a  prescription that  containing vitamin A derivatives like Retin-A.

* To reduce inflammation and kill bacteria, use acne medicationcontaining benzoyl-peroxide.

* Ointment containing a antibiotic drugs such as Garamicyn (can be purchased prescription free), can be tried. This ointment can kill bacteria and reduce inflammation swelling too.

Cystic Acne (Pimples Stone / Acne Maize)

Great shape with great inflamed bulge, gathered in almost all areas of the face (different from ordinary acne that are only in one part of the face).

1.  Oil gland over-active and ‘flooding’ the pores with oil.
2.  The growth of skin cells are not normal, can not regenerate as fast as normal skin.
3.  Having an excessive response to the inflammation that can leave a scar on the skin.

Prevention & Treatment

 It’s useless to use prescription free drugs – it will not be able to handle this type of acne. You should consult a dermatologist to treat it.

 For only one or two pimple stones, an effective cure is to ask your doctor to injected the acne with cortisone, which makes this acne recover within 48 hours.

Blackheads

Blackheads acne is composed of two types. First, open blackheads (Blackhead) looks like pores enlarged and black (black is pore blockage which change color due to oxidation by air). Second, the closed blackheads (Whitehead), skin that grows in the pore is clogged so it looks a little like white bumps under the skin.

This type of  blackheads acne is caused by dead skin cells and excessive oil glands in the skin. This occurs when you do not clean the skin periodic.Dead skin cells and oil accumulate on the skin surface and then close the skin cells. Make up and hair products that contain oil also aggravate the situation.

Prevention & Treatment

*  Washing your face every morning and night with a cleansercontaining salicylic acid or AHAs, / BHA (for peeling skin cells die) and a skin scrub at least once a week.

* Using wax paper to absorb excess oil on the face.

* Wear a mask for oily skin once a week.

* Remove blackheads with plaster pore strips.

* For Whitehead, use acne medications containing salicylic-acid.
